Toy Story Toys made by Disney Pixar are very popular throughout the world. One film that has provided the younger generation (okay and us adults too although we are loathed to admit it) with hours of happiness is Toy Story. The animated story of a group of toys on a mission to find one of their group who has gone missing (the intrepid Buzz Lightyear) captured the imagination of children all around the world. Indeed, since the first Toy Story film was released back in 1995, there have been two other feature-length films and several television series to continue the excitement.

Toy Story saw the wonder of children’s favourite Disney coming together with the fantastic emerging technology of Pixar Animation Studios. The writer and director of Toy Story, John Lasseter, had previously worked as an animator at Disney. He was then introduced to the wonders of computer-generated animation when two friends showed him a scene from Tron. The rest, as they say, is history.

The imaginative stories and adventures that the group of toys have in each of the films and the equally fantastic television series’ appeal to children of all ages, from the very young to teenagers who would usually hide in their room at any other given opportunity. It is the catchy phrases that are easy to remember, the humour and the sense of togetherness that Toy Story offers that has given it a very long shelf life.

As a result of the films, there is a multitude of toys available on the market, providing hours if not days of imaginative play for millions of children. It is fair to say that it is likely more boys than girls are drawn to certain characters from the film such as Buzz Lightyear and Woody the Cowboy. But both boys and girls can have plenty of fun with other toys such as Mr Potato Head and Slinky Dog.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest sellers when it comes to Toy Story Toys is the Talking Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger. This toy is very popular due to the fact that it comes with so many features. Not only is it true to the character on the screen down to the smallest detail, such as the led light that lights up on Buzz’s wrist, it comes with around 65 phrases, all said in the original voice from the film.

Whilst Buzz is an old favourite from the very start of the Toy Story Toys phenomenon, one of the newer characters has also proved to be very popular with young fans. His name is Lots-o-Huggin and many children have fallen in love with the Lots-O-Huggin Bear. This toy is soft and cuddly to the extreme with velcro on his hands to ensure that he can give you a great big, secure hug! There are also tickle sensors in his feet, posable arms and if you press his left hand you will hear phrases from the film.

With the Toy Story Toys franchise proving so popular, it is destined to be around for a long time to come yet – perhaps even for infinity!
